so i ran a few tests, cpu-z fully recognizes my RAM, as you can see in the attached screenshots, and also RAMMon can detect two RAM slots with total amount of 6GB capacity. But it says "Total physical memory :1931MB (6144MB)" which i don't know what it really means. In windows properties i see about 2GB of ram, and also BIOS only detects 2GB!

Best bet is to use a tool like Crucial's RAM selector to find a compatible model. It will also support 16GB RAM (at least the MT form factor - smaller form factors might be limited to 8GB due to less slots) as long as the BIOS is up to date. As far as I can tell, the RAM I have is low-density (8 chips/side). The machine is the SFF model. Feb 09, 2012 · I have two RAM slots. I recently bought a new RAM card to upgrade my computer. I installed it onto my motherboard correctly: unplugging the computer, grounding myself, etc. Now, my monitor won't I second what Mark East said, but also want to mention if your RAM isn’t detected and working, you probably won’t even POST, which means you can’t get into BIOS to enable your RAM slots, which, as far as I know, isn’t even a thing. Check each RAM stick individually in all slots. If all slots and RAM sticks are working, put all RAM sticks in slots, and run F12 diagnostics just for Memory. It took around 1.5 - 2 hrs for me. System will restart automatically after successful test. Now the total RAM should be visible in BIOS. Thanks @ejn63 and @inspiron 3593 for the suggestions!

BIOS version A11. Got eight identical sticks of 2GB ram (totaling 16GB) and installed it on all available slots. Noticed on Windows properties - Installed RAM 16GB (4GB usable). Tried to play around with virtual memory allocations, but no success. Checked BIOS and it showed all 8 slots occupied with 2GB ram, but installed memory is 4GB. Jul 11, 2019

Then I put 2x16GB in slots A1 and A2 and that worked fine. After that I installed windows 10 pro with uefi bios and everything is working fine.

I am also running a Asus B450 F gaming with bios 4007 and a 5800x and i got the exact same problem. Does not boot with memory stick in B1 or B2 with a Ryzen 5000 processor. Works flawless with my 3800x though. When using the 5800x i do know the slots get power cause my memory sticks got LED on them and they light up when i start the computer.
